Embarcadero puts DBArtisan in the (tool) cloud

DBArtisan XE provides database admin and analysis tools across all the major database platforms.

Delphi to database tools vendor Embarcadero has been freshening up its customer communications channels, as well as adding a new member to its DBArtisan multi-platform database administration family. DBArtisan XE joins the existing Standard, Professional and Workbench editions, the major difference being that it includes as standard Embarcadero’s ToolCloud centralised licensing and deployment system and InstantOn streaming execution (see HardCopy issue 47), and has connectivity to Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Sybase and MySQL out of the box. Its features are equivalent to the Professional edition, with an add-on Analyst pack taking it up to (near) Workbench level. All editions share the version 8.7 core, with new features including Unicode support, improved DB2 z/OS support, an enhanced ISQL editor with on-the-fly syntax checking, and new filtering capabilities.
