Welcome to my blog! My name is Jason Stanley and I'm the Graphic Designer of the Software Know How web site. Having worked as a freelance designer for a 3 years I became the Lead Designer for Grey Matter Ltd. in 2008.

I have experience in both print and web-based design having worked on Grey Matter's HardCopy Magazine and HardCopy online. My job involves me working closely with various software publishers/distributers such as Microsoft, Symantec, Embarcadero and Flexera to create advertising campaigns promoting their various products. These may include full page adverts, web banners, promotional posters or landing pages.

Throughout my work I've always had a keen interest on exploring new ideas and gaining inspiration from other designer's work. With this blog I hope to share some of the discoveries I make and hopefully provide inspiration to others!

In this post I want to show you the design process behind the cover for the 50th Issue, demonstrating some techniques and resources that I commonly use when producing Grey Matter’s magazine.

One of my principle tasks as a graphic designer working for Grey Matter is to provide effective landing pages for our partners to sell their products.

These need to be fairly simple but deliver a straightforward message to the customer about various products or services.
